Finally a new tutorial :)

OMG,  lol it has been so long since I have been able to get time alone to film for Youtube.  I decided to do a "Get ready with me" video because time just hasn't been on my side since the holidays started.  My look was inspired by Jessica Alba's braided updo,  her hairstyle was bohemian and her makeup was classic with a red lip,  which has been my signature lately.  Please check it out below,  hope everyone enjoys.

And if you want to see the tutorial please click on the video below and I hope you like it :)

True Beauty

Today I wanted to talk about something that every person in some form or another may struggle with and that is feeling beautiful or attractive.  Its been on my mind since the Victoria's secret fashion show because everyone says oh this model is so beautiful or I wish I had a body like that!  I know there are days when I wake up and the last thing I feel is beautiful but there is someone who always thinks I'm beautiful and that's God.  The reason I decided to go into the cosmetology field was to make others feel good about themselves and to show people they don't have to be a size 0 to be considered attractive.  I feel God has placed that in me as a true desire of my heart because when I look at someone I always try to pick out something special about them.  We have been taught through television,  magazines, and other media about this so called "beauty" but we need to break that mold and appreciate beauty the way God meant us to.  The only way to truly break out of the mold is to start with ourselves,  because once you see the beauty inside you and display that confidence people will start to notice and think WOW.  But even if you are a person that can wake up and feel pretty right out of bed I encourage you to examine yourself past what is skin deep and think about what your personality or how you treat others displays about you.  For those who struggle with self esteem start with something that you do like about yourself,  is it your eyes or your hair,  whatever it is embrace it and go from there. If there is something about the way you look for example weight is something a lot of us struggle with i encourage you to try and take the steps necessarily,  go for a small walk every other day and watch the small steps add up.  You can't truly appreciate the beauty in others without appreciating the beauty within you.  I believe God made us all beautiful no matter what the world may tell you and I pray that if you are struggling with the way you look that he will provide you the strength to get past it.  Beauty is what's in the inside and that's what counts :)

Victoria Secret Fashion Show 2011

Just finished watching the VS fashion show and it was beautiful.  I love this show because its so creative and the VS models are sooo beautiful.  Below I posted a picture of my favorite VS models.  I feel so inspired by the colors, designs and the attention to details.  I don't think I could even pick out 1 part to call my favorite but if I had to choose I think it would be the aquarium angels and club pink.  All the music artist sounded amazing and it was so cute to watch the angels rock out.  Also quick shout out to Miranda Kerr coming back from having her baby and she looks amazing :)  Hope everyone was able to watch and enjoy the show, if not look up the videos on Youtube.com. I think I smell hair tutorial lol :D

First Post :)

Hey Everyone,

My name is Chanel Melendez and this is my first blog post,  I am going to start with some info about myself and why I started blogging.  First of all I'm a mom of 3 beautiful children Nicholas (9),  Noelle (6),  and Thaleia (4).  Right now I'm going to school @ Empire beauty school in Lehigh valley and my goal is to be a beauty artist.  I've been interested in hair and makeup since I was a little girl and finally decided to get into something I truly love and enjoy.  To get my name out there I started a youtube channel called nellie12783 in which i upload hair and makeup tutorials etc.  Now when reading this some people may say what's a beauty artist?  Well you have makeup artist,  hairstylist etc.  I want to be the person that does it all because I enjoy beauty in every aspect and think everyone no matter what is beautiful and I want to do everything to make you feel that way.
